New pathways for funding research with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities
An article published by GlobalDev brings together experiences from different countries and discusses fairer ways to support research led by and carried out with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities
How can we create fairer ways to fund research led by and/or carried out with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities? This is a discussion that has been gaining momentum through exchanges among leaders, researchers, and organizations from different parts of the world.
Bringing together experiences and lessons from different countries, the article “Funding research with Indigenous Peoples: Lessons from around the world,” published by GlobalDev, reflects on how research funding reaches territories and on the importance of strengthening the autonomy and leadership of those who produce knowledge from and within them.
The publication is the result of a collective process of dialogue and collaboration. WTT participated in this initiative, representing the Avina ecosystem alongside partners from different parts of the world. The experiences and exchanges accumulated throughout the Belmont Forum also contributed to the reflections presented in the article.
