WTT at the 1st Brazilian Symposium on Teaching, Research and Extension in Social Technology

On September 21 and 22, the 1st Brazilian Symposium on Teaching, Research and Extension in Social Technology will take place in Rio de Janeiro.

The national meeting is providing an important space for actors in the field of Social Technology (ST) to organize, debate and strengthen the area.

WTT took part in the event with the presentation, on Thursday (21), of the article “Science, Technology and Innovation in the Brazilian Semi-Arid”. The project reports on a path of scientific collaboration that has resulted in the development of two social technologies aimed at the Brazilian semi-arid region: grey water reuse and biofilm technologies for fruit.

Thinking about technologies that are accessible and adapted to specific contexts and involving the actors in these spaces in the process of technological development and improvement is a cross-cutting axis of the work that WTT has been doing in various projects. That’s why spaces for exchanging knowledge and experiences from this perspective are essential.
